“As a doctor, I listen and use data-driven critical thinking to solve problems and help people. I’ll have the same approach as Town Supervisor to find practical solutions to the challenges our community faces.”

Meet Dr. Toni Sturm

Raised in Wilton, Toni went to Ballard Elementary and South Glen Falls Jr. and Sr. High, and then went to Skidmore. She embarked on a journey in medicine, earning her degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She is board certified in internal medicine, and has Masters level training in public health. Throughout her career, Dr. Sturm has consistently demonstrated her unwavering dedication to serving underserved populations, devoting her time to extensive volunteer work and as a founding board member Citiwide Harm Reduction—a testament to her compassionate and community-focused approach.

Having secured over $1.2 million in grants for innovative medical programs in NYC, Dr. Sturm has honed her expertise in internal medicine and public health. After returning to Wilton in 2005, she worked in Glens Falls and Ticonderoga in internal medicine positions of various capacities. During her tenure as the ER Medical Director at Moses Ludington Hospital from 2015 to 2018 Toni remained committed to the local community as the hospital liaison for local drug abuse prevention.

Beyond healthcare, Toni is deeply committed to land preservation and wetland protection. She lives on the property where she grew up, and has been tromping the same woods for over 55 years. Her collaboration with Saratoga Plan to integrate her Wilton property into existing trail systems reflects her unwavering dedication to bettering our community.

Toni Sturm's decision to run for Supervisor is rooted in her deep love for Wilton and a sincere desire to provide the visionary leadership it deserves. Recognizing the absence of such leadership, Toni aims to unite the community and preserve the town's unique qualities. With her extensive background in medicine and dedication to service, she brings valuable leadership skills to the table. Through collaboration, inclusivity, and transparency, Toni plans to empower the community, ensuring that Wilton's voice shapes its future. Her candidacy offers a chance to safeguard what makes Wilton special while steering it towards continued growth and prosperity.

Toni’s Priorities

EMBRACE SMART, STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT

Residents feel development is uncontrolled. Toni will work to protect Wilton's wonderful quality of life with thoughtful planning:

  • Modify zoning and codes to balance development and preserve green space.

  • Maintain "No Town Tax."

EASE TRAFFIC AND CONNECT OUR NEIGHBORHOODS

Residents deserve safe ways to walk and bike to schools, Gavin Park, and Saratoga. A network of multi-use paths and designated crosswalks would enhance our community and improve public health. The Rt 9 Hamlet zone lacks continuous sidewalks, and the large number of apartment dwellers there can’t walk safely to the post office or stores.

  • Toni is committed to getting multi-use paths and continuous Rt 9 Hamlet sidewalks done.

  • Toni will work to implement smart traffic lights and turn lanes.

MAKE TOWN GOVERNMENT MORE RESPONSIVE AND TRANSPARENT

As a doctor, Toni listens to people's concerns to find the best solutions. As Wilton's Supervisor, Toni will ensure your voice is heard by creating:

  • A town-wide survey on development and resident ideas and concerns

  • Citizen advisory boards for Community Safety, Conservation, and more.

  • Participatory Budgeting.

IMPROVE CELL SERVICE

Whether you work from home or are in need of emergency services, poor cell service is not just inconvenient, but dangerous.

  • Toni will invest in our infrastructure to improve cell service so residents can stay connected.
